Igor Figueiredo Wins 2025 Pan American Senior Snooker Championship to Earn a Return to The Crucible
The 2025 Pan American Senior Snooker Championship in Sacramento, United States, concluded with Igor Figueiredo of Brazil capturing the title after a dominant performance from start to finish. The championship, held from 30 August to 2 September, highlighted the strength of Brazilian snooker, with all four semifinalists hailing from the country.
Figueiredo’s win will see him return to the Crucible Theater to compete in the 2026 World Seniors Snooker Championship. The Cricible is where Figueiredo defeated Ken Doherty in the 2024 final to win the biggest title of his career to date.
Figueiredo topped the tournament with the highest break of 141, a standout effort that underlined his scoring power. Noel Rodrigues Morreira followed closely with a superb 134, while Fabio Anderson Luersen made 122 and Itaro Santos contributed a classy 113.
In the semifinals, Figueiredo overcame Itaro Santos 4–1. Santos briefly threatened a comeback with his century clearance in the third frame, but Figueiredo’s consistency secured him a place in the final. On the other table, Noel Morreira defeated Fabio Luersen 4–2, highlighted by his 134 in the opening frame, while Luersen responded with his own 122 in the fourth before Morreira closed the match.
The all-Brazilian final saw Figueiredo face Morreira. Despite Morreira’s earlier form, Figueiredo proved too strong, claiming a 4–1 victory. His control in the early frames set the tone, and he closed the contest in commanding fashion to secure the championship.
With his unbeaten run and the tournament’s highest break of 141, Igor Figueiredo lifted the trophy, reaffirming his position as the leading force in Pan American snooker.
